Hillary goes off script…and launches a MIRV in Obama-Land

Hillary Clinton went off script yesterday while speaking at the Council on Foreign Relations.  She also made some very pointed remarks during the Q and A afterwards.  HillaryIs44 as usual has an excellent article regarding the entire situation. 

But Hillary Clinton today was a marvel to watch as she skewred Barack Obama in language which was both disguised and naked.

“Seeking to reassert American power in a more complex world, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton declared Wednesday that the United States was still the best hope for victims of natural disasters and political repression, and for old enemies wanting to make peace.[snip]

Mrs. Clinton’s speech at the Council on Foreign Relations, heavily promoted by her office, seemed intended to send a positive message during an uphill election season in which President Obama is dealing with deepening economic problems. She alluded to those problems, saying that the federal budget deficit, if unchecked, would undermine the United States as a global power.

The sputtering economy, Mrs. Clinton said, “sends a message of weakness internationally.” She continued, “It is very troubling to me that we are losing the ability not only to chart our own destiny, but to have the leverage that comes from having this enormously effective economic engine.”
