Obama and his Purple Army at the SEIU.

Health Care for America Now (HCAN) is a national grassroots campaign of more than 1,000 organizations in 46 states representing 30 million people. Their organization and principles are supported by President Obama, Vice President Biden, and more than 190 Members of Congress.

The HCAN Steering Committee includes: ACORN, AFL-CIO, AFSCME, AFT, Americans United for Change, Campaign for America’s Future, Center for American Progress Action Fund, Campaign for Community Change, Children’s Defense Fund Action Council, Communications Workers of America, International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace & Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW), MoveOn.org, NAACP, National Council of La Raza, National Education Association, National Women’s Law Center, SEIU, UFCW, USAction, Women’s Voices, Women’s Vote and Working America.

The Goal 350,000 New Members….

In the summer of 2009, HCAN published a “playbook” of tactics designed to help supporters of socialized medicine neutralize the impact made by any protesters who might attend healthcare town hall meetings moderated by Democrat Members of Congress. The book advised supporters of socialized medicine to adopt the following specific strategies for minimizing the visibility and influence of the protesters:

  • “You must bring enough people to drown them [the protesters] out.”
  • “Arrive earlier than the other side does: we need to stack our folks in the front to create a wall around the Member [of Congress].”
  • “When the other side gets too loud, we should shut them down with chants that counter their message like ‘Health Care Can’t Wait!’ and ‘Health Care Delayed Is Health Care Denied!’”
  • “Another way to limit protesters’ ability to hijack your event is to confiscate signs or leaflets that they may bring into the venue from outside. The best way to do this is to make a blanket rule that no one can bring signs or leaflets …You can distribute your own signs in the event and offer them one as they enter if you choose to allow them to enter.”
  • “It’s important that you take away right wingers’ opportunities to talk with reporters by making sure that your staff or leaders are in constant contact with the media who attend.”

Justice for all working families?  Are those attending TEA PARTY’S or PROTESTING against Obamacare at TOWNHALL MEETINGS not working families?

Are members of the Republican Party not working families?  Are the only workers in this country members of SEIU or ACORN?

Let’s not forget, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), along with ACORN (with whom they share a common address), were most instrumental in getting Mr. Obama elected.

  1. The only thing for sure is that if we ‘reform’ health care we will trade one set of problems for a different set of problems. In case you haven’t noticed even the supposed best health plans in the world aren’t a walk in the park. They, too, haven’t figured out the affordability issue.

  2. I am defnitely pro-labor. My father was a teamster and his union benefits helped him live with dignity before he died. I am pro-union but the SEIU has taken it to another stratosphere.

We all know healthcare needs to be reformed but before we overhaul it let’s straighten out Medicare and Social Security. Once those programs are viable then let’s go after healthcare reform. Besides I don’t trust Obama to do the right thing for the people – all the people.
